Christmas Tree Made From Circle Punches

A supposed to be easy tree made out of circle punches. You know when you just have one of those really bad video days? This was mine! I hope you enjoy it.  There's another video tutorial below this one that is a wreath made out of die cuts and punches too.

Card & Scrap Sketches

Sometimes I'm sitting in my craft studio wondering how to have my layout on my scrap book page done or a card made. I love doing sketches to help me and thought I would share them with you for your inspiration on my other blog.  Here's an example you can find over there:

I am on a sketch challenge design team.  This is my version of the sketch that I had to work with.  Of course I had to be different and change things around, so here's my take on it.

I embossed the background straight onto the card using my Big Shot.  I rubbed my stamp pad over the embossed image to give it some color.  The bottom is punched with a lace border punch.  There were two stamps used.  One on the purple scallop and then one on the green circle.  Then I tied a ribbon around it to finish it.  Enjoy!

So if you are running out of ideas or maybe have your own, visit me here and take a peek.

Neiman Marcus & Quilling

I was on Face Book checking around Denise's posts when she posted a link to the Holiday Neiman Marcus advertisement.  Can you believe it has animated quilling in it?  I have put the link below for you to see.  When you get to the site click on the cupcake in the bottom right hand corner to start the video.  Enjoy!

You can see the video HERE.
Yay for quilling!

November 2009 Artist Of The Month

S. Kavitha
A Profile

Kavitha, Grand Daughter of renowned Tamil poet Kannadasan, is a computer science graduate.  Driven by her passion for drawing and painting that began at a very young age, she is qualified in fashion designing, fine arts and stained glass painting in continuation of her graduation.

She began her career as an artist in 2003.  With just one year experience in the field and a lot of confidence in her talent, she started her own institution for teaching arts and crafts by the name ‘Kalalayaa’ in 2004.  Ever since then she has been coaching varieties of paintings, arts and craft works to many people of all age groups.

To expose her talent to the general public, she conducted a solo exhibition in September 2007 at the C.P. Art Center, Alwarpet in which she displayed 65 varieties of paintings and murals.  Much to her excitement, she drew the attention of the public with a lot of appreciation.   Since 2005 her paintings and murals are regularly displayed at Victoria Technical Institute and other galleries.

This young artist has appeared on a lot of TV shows, Sun TV, Mega TV, and Doordarshan where she demonstrates painting and crafts.  She has also been to schools, colleges and other places as a judge for painting and craft competitions.

She is a very talented artist.  She has two blogs.  One showing her exhibits and the other showing her artistry.

Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio

I recently bought My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!  I had to try it out.  I had a blast making the 11 page scrapbook that took me less than an hour.  You can't do one that fast with traditional scrapbook materials.  It is of a two week road trip I took and this was just a half day!  I have a lot to scrap and this makes it so easy.  It's really not made for video playback but I had to show you how easy it was.  The quality of a scrapbook you order when your done is phenomenal.  I am not a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but I just got the software today and I love it!
You can order this great digital scrapbook and card making software by visiting Anne
Thanks!

From One Friend To Another

Vicki emailed me today and said she had a nice surprise for me on her blog.  I hopped over there to see what it was and it's a great award she gave me.  Vicki does such great work on her blog so go visit her too!
To receive this award I am supposed to write 5 things about myself so here goes.....

1.  I am a total Star Trek fan (pick yourself up from laughing please).
2.  I sometimes sit in my craft room and look around at all tons of stuff I am fortunate to have and still have no inspiration.
3.  Neil Diamond is my favorite singer well, next to Englebert Humperdinck (I'm only 39, so again, please pick yourself up from laughing please).
4.  I use PVA glue (the white Elmers kind) when I'm quilling.  I still like to rub some on the back of my hand, let it dry and peel it off like I did in grade school.
5.  I got my first bone folder in a kit and wouldn't use it because I thought it was really made of bone (kind of gave me the creeps) so I bought one that was plastic and later found out mine was plastic all along!

Now that I've had a blast writing these things about me, I'm going to share this with five friends.

Give their blogs a peek too!
